Germanic Light Foot. Pack of 8 figures (four different poses). Even as late as the 6th century the Nobles fighting as cavalry were said by the eye-witness Procopius not to have worn metal armour or helmets, but to be protected only by shields and thick jackets. Undoubtedly the poorer warriors fighting om foot would have been even less well equipped. These figures using only light wicker shields and fur jackets as protection are perfect to mix with better equipped foot warriors to depict the less wealthy bulk of the infantry or as skirmishers.
